San Diego Recap (Friday)

Friday
Hot Tub, Seaport Village, Colima's, Home

Friday was our last day in San Diego, and we spent much of the morning packing and getting ready to head home. We breakfasted on cookies from this yummy cookie store in Seaport Village that my friend Cole suggested. (Thanks, Cole!) We also decided to take advantage of the hot tub one last time, and enjoyed the beautiful view of San Diego Bay from there.

Daniel, Iryna and Sofie picked us up and we all enjoyed some lunch and dominoes at Colima's Mexican Restaurant, which Dave's wife, Vicky owns! It was wonderful, and I had my very first Ceviche there - YUM! (I've been craving it every day since!)

THANK YOU for a wonderful lunch, Vicky!! My only disappointment in this visit to Colima's is that I won't be able to return anytime soon :( I'm going to be looking up Ceviche recipes, though - mark my word! If you live near San Diego, check this place out!

Dominoes!

Heading Home
Unfortunately, we needed to be to the airport by 2:30 for our 4:20pm flight (or so we thought), so we had to cut the fun short. We said our goodbyes, then Daniel, Iryna and Sofie dropped us at the airport.

It was tough to say goodbye to this:

San Diego Recap (Monday)

Mark and I enjoyed a short 5-day trip to San Diego the week before Christmas to visit his siblings and their significant others, and to escape the frigid temps back in Minnesota.

Monday
Traveled to San Diego, had supper with Daniel, Iryna and Sofia at Applebee's, Checked into Manchester Grand Hyatt hotel, Mark had the 12-hour flu.

We flew out of Minneapolis on Monday around 3pm after a 30-minute delay for de-icing, because yes - it was snowing and nasty there!

With the delay, we barely made our connecting flight in Phoenix, but we did! Unfortunately, while the weather was much warmer in San Diego, this was what the radar looked like for the first 2 full days we were there - rain and lots of it!

Mark's brother picked us up from the airport, and we all went to Applebee's for supper with his brother Daniel, and Daniel's girlfriend and her daughter - Iryna and Sofia.

We were pretty tired afterward, so they dropped us off at our hotel and we checked in. It was SO NICE!! Here was our room:

Unfortunately, around 9pm, Mark ended up with the stomach flu, which kept him up a lot during the night. However, without having a 6am wake up time as usual, he was able to sleep late into the morning until around 9:30am.
